Awkward Shooting Positions

Great Example of a Tactical Fitness Workout

These guys are breaking new ground in integrated skillset cardio work.  Cardio work can take many forms and can incorporate many movements beyond than good ol' running or walking on the incline.  Check out this Tabata circuit (see http://www.intervaltraining.net/tabata.html for more info on this interval based circuit), it is great but take note of the Poul Ups at 2:00.

Day 2!!!  We start right off with some live fire. We need a baseline.  We are working on trigger control and sight alignment.  The target is a reduced size steel auto resetting popper at 20 yards.  Not an easy shot.

Ports!! Loosen Those Hips Up

Derrick Dotson and Mike Hughes get after it and work the port drill.  Basic drill, we get a lot of training dry and then hit it live.

Training Points

  1. Loosen Hips Up
  2. Work Trigger Control
  3. Get Quality and Volume of Repetitions

Live Fire and Dry Fire Barricade Shooting/Awkward Shooting Positions

This is one of my favorite drills. Shooting in a crouch, around a barricade or anything other than upright is a deficiency in our performance. Shooting in these positions is a 1000 mile journey. It takes a lot of reps to get into position and shoot fast-n-accurate.

Tom Heckens shows how to train more in awkward shooting positions.
